Next Generation Nude

Tom Ford is back with another collection for Estee Lauder, and you just know this one is going to sell like hotcakes. I don't even have pictures of the new items yet (the one at left is the bronzer from the original Amber Nude collection) but couldn't resist posting.

Amber Nude II is an expansion of last year's hugely successful Amber Nude makeup collection, and includes two new lipsticks (Amber Buff and Amber Rose), a new Lip Polish (Amber Blush), and a new Face Gloss (Polished Amber). The new shades are gorgeous and have more of a rosy cast than the originals. We've seen a lot of rosy neutrals on the runways, so the timing is perfect.

Black Amber Eye Gloss has been reissued, as well as the original lip colors, Amber Nude face gloss, the Face Powder, and the Bronzer.

I had a chance to try out some of these lovely goodies, and while I like to make fun of Tom Ford on this blog, there's no denying that the new collection is a winner and the colors are gorgeous...again.

The Lip in Amber Buff is a creamy nude with more of a pink base than the lippies in the original Amber Nude collection. Shimmer-free and not too dark, it would look great with a smoky eye.

The reissued Face Powder in Amber Nude is a neutral, fine powder pressed into the signature gold Tom Ford/Estee Lauder compact. Looks great on your face AND in your purse. Even the box is pretty - amber faille and gold.

The Face Gloss in Polished Amber is a sheer rosy nude with fine 24-karat gold shimmer, and would look lovely on cheeks, especially this fall when we're seeing so much matte. The dewiness of the Face Gloss is perfect for offsetting an otherwise matte face, keeping the look modern and balanced. This is the one I think will sell out this year, along with the reissued Black Amber Eye Gloss.

Amber Nude II will be available at Estee Lauder counters and www.esteelauder.com September 2006 through December 2006. Will you be there with your Amex?
