One of my favorite maid-of-honor duties for my friend T's recent wedding was building the wedding day survival kit. I had been stockpiling items for weeks, and by the time the big day arrived, we were ready for any emergency!
You can buy a Wedding Day Survival Kit from ms & mrs that houses 30 must-haves, but if you're more of a DIY type of girl, here's a comprehensive list of everything you'll need to be as prepared as a Boy Scout for your big day:
Clothes
- Static Guard
- Febreze (see if you can find the mini bottle)
- Tide Pen
- Double sided tape (I like Hollywood Fashion Tape in various sizes)
- White chalk (to disguise any stains on the gown)
- Packing tape (a friend recommended this and she's right, it does everything from repairing headpieces and hems to removing lint)
- Sewing kit (w/ scissor)
- Safety pins
- Makeup for touchups (major "duh" moment, right?)
- Mirror
- Tissues
- Blotting papers (I like Boscia)
- Revlon Makeup Eraser pen
- Q-tips
- Brush
- Hairpins
- Hairspray
- Floss
- Travel toothbrush and toothpaste
- Gum
- Mints
- Clear nail polish
- Super glue
- Nail file
- Tampons
- Deodorant
- Advil/Tylenol/Motrin
- Alka-Seltzer
- Tums
- Band-aids
- Visine
- Purell
- Slippers
- Various foot cushions (I like the Runaway Bride set from Foot Petals)
- Band-Aid Blister Blocks
Shown with a Super Tote in Java Blue from Vera Bradley. Do you have anything to add to the kit? Post it in the comments and I'll add it to the list!
