Everybody needs a place to rest
Everybody wants to have a home
Don't make no difference what nobody says
Ain't nobody like to be alone
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Lay down your money and you play your part
Everybody's got a hungry heart
Just wanted to start your day with some lyrics from the Boss! NARS Hungry Heart Blush Duo was part of the Spring 2009 collection, but lazy me, I just got around to testing it this fall.
NARS says that the compact contains "one highlighting and one sculpting shade, allowing you to literally shape your desired look." On the left is an iridescent gold ivory and on the right, pink sand with golden sheen.
What the website and the photo don't tell you is that instead of getting "iridescence" or "sheen," you're getting straight-up gold glitter.
The ivory and the pink sand in these pans barely show up at all; it's mostly a soft powdery look with a generous dose of very fine glitter.
Pretty for a night out or for a playful look, but absolutely not office-safe, first-date safe, or safe for any day when you don't want your face covered in pixie dust! The descriptions I found on the web were somewhat deceiving; based on them I was expecting the blush equivalent of the All About Eve eyeshadow duo - that amazing combination that creates a glowy, contoured "natural" eye in a snap.
Hungry Heart, though, will only satisfy your hunger for glitter. For a better blush/highlight duo from NARS, pick up one of the compacts that sports Albatross in the highlighter slot - choose from Sin, Orgasm or Torrid for the blush shade.
