I hate it when cosmetic companies claim that their lipsticks stay on all day, when in reality, as soon as you even get near a wine glass, a fork, or another pair of lips, you can kiss the color goodbye.
Then those awful "long-wearing" formulas came out, the ones that stayed on but made your lips wrinkly and dry. Not attractive! It was more like coating your lips with clay than lipstick.
I am a firm believer that Chanel Rouge Double Intensite is an exception. This double-ended tube contains long-wearing lip color on one end, and clear gloss on the other. The color goes on with a wand applicator, like a gloss, but quickly dries to a soft, non-sticky base. Top it off with a coat of gloss and you're all set. Every time I've tried it, the color has stayed on for over 8 hours, even through meetings (with lots of talking) and meals. It didn't feather or wear off in the middle, either. The only drawback is that you do have to reapply the gloss every so often, unless you're going for matte lips.
My favorite shade is Tourmaline, but there are 7 others to choose from. For all you true addicts out there, just keep in mind that you're stuck with that color all day long! :)
