The Empire of Tom, Part 2

Our man Tom Ford is taking over the media. As guest art director for this year's Vanity Fair Hollywood Issue, the ex-Gucci mastermind has brought his famous style and infamous self-love to the magazine.

On the cover are Keira Knightley, Scarlett Johansson, and...Tom himself, of course. CNN reports that "he hadn't planned on becoming part of his own project, but he stepped in when "Wedding Crashers" star Rachel McAdams, 29, backed out."

While it's true that McAdams balked at the nudity and backed out, is it any surprise that Tom wound up on the cover in her stead? This man is obsessed with himself.

The cover photo itself is beautiful, by virtue of Annie Leibovitz being the photographer, but something about it sickens me. Specifically, how lecherous Tom looks, with his ridiculous chest hair and his face nuzzled in bored-looking Keira's neck. Is he biting her ear?

The overly stylized sex that has become Tom's trademark is beginning to rub me the wrong way - pardon the pun - especially when Tom puts himself in the picture. It's not sex that oozing off the page here, it's narcissism.
