Gorgeous Makeup at the Oscars

Now that we've looked at the silly and the hideous, let's move on to the beautiful! Lots of the celebs on the red carpet looked great, but there were a few whose makeup and/or hair really stood out:

Felicity Huffman. No mistaking that the Transamerica star is all woman here! The makeup is classic and gorgeous, as is the hair. Felicity looks happy, glowing, and young. I loved the top of her Zac Posen gown, too, but the skirt left me unimpressed.

Jessica Alba. I was impressed with her choices of gown (Versace), hair, and makeup. She looks like the new generation of Hollywood glamour, which is certainly not something I expected of her. Go, Jessica! Show all your young fans that it's a good thing to have a body that's more than skin and bones, and that classic, elegant style is always a home run on the red carpet.

Ziyi Zhang. Her makeup is absolutely stunning every time. She has made my "best" list for the Globes, the SAG Awards, and now the Oscars. Sweet, fresh, graceful and elegant. There is something about the way she carries her tiny frame that reminds me of Audrey Hepburn.

Michelle Williams. You'd hardly even recognize her from her Dawson's Creek days. First off, a daring choice of dress, for sure - a gorgeous marigold Vera Wang, which I loved. The makeup and hair complement it perfectly. Her costar Anne Hathaway needs to take a page from Michelle's book. Unfortunately, there was a very foolish critic on a NYC news station who said that Michelle's "mustard" dress and "ketchup" lipstick made her look like a hot dog. Shame on you, third rate critic! I think this was the look of the night.
