Jenni Kayne was my favorite show yesterday hands down. Great shapes, fabrics and colors, and of course, gorgeous makeup.
The Clothes The show opened with Jessica Stam modeling a leather trench in a striking salmon hue that showed up a few more times during the show - in hat form! Other standouts included a heathered chocolate cashmere cardigan (alliteration, anyone?) with corset details in deep teal, a chocolate Grecian style gown with a soft butter colored sash (above), and a cream on white wool lace mini (shown above with that great silk hat).
Kayne also showed some great 1940's style swimwear in an oversized, abstract floral print that just felt like California.
The shoes were great too; dark green peep toe wedges!
The Makeup Vincent Longo did the makeup for this show, and it was my favorite look so far this week. Shimmering dark green smokey eyes with lots of liner and champagne shimmer on the browbones, apricot blush on the apples of the cheeks, and light apricot satin finish lips. As we saw at Terexov, this is a much more "user friendly" way to pull off the smokey eye/pale lip look. The super-matte flesh colored lips are, hopefully, on their way out for spring!
The deep green shimmer eyeliner used at the show was gorgeous - get thee to Sephora immediately and pick up Vincent Longo eyeliner in Esmeralda!
The Hair Loose updos by Prive, which looked soft and pretty with the makeup.
The People Mischa Barton, Jared Leto, Victoria Traina, Kristen Bell. Jared was sporting the ever-classy slogan, "Rock Out With Your Cock Out," and his eye makeup was smokier than the models'.
