Left: Nina Ricci Fall '06
We first saw this look on the Fall runways six months ago, and now it's hitting the streets right on time. In the past couple of weeks I've spotted more than a few very fashionable women sporting this look in NYC, and I LOVE it.
The top lids are lined with black liquid liner and neutral shadows - if any - and the lower lids sport a thin line of bright color smudged into the lashline.
It's surprisingly wearable and adds a little punch to an otherwise neutral face; to recreate it, try MAC Technakohl in Auto-de-Blu on the lower lashline, with black liquid liner on the top lids (I like Lancome Artliner and L'Oreal Lineur Intense), matte skin, and a neutral lip.
It'll work with any other shade that suits your skin tone, mood, or personality, too - right now I'm loving NARS eyeliner pencil in Kalliste, a deep smoky teal. Just keep the lips and cheeks neutral - too much pink or orange with this will make you look like you just stepped out of a Cyndi Lauper video circa 1986.
