Spraying Evian on your face? So over. It feels nice on your skin at the beach, but I got so sick of seeing girls toting around mini Evian sprays like some sort of bizarre status symbol, that I stopped buying them just on principle.
But sometimes your face really does need a little pick me up, whether after a drying plane ride, a day at the beach, or just a hellish day at the office. My new face-refresher-of-choice is The Body Shop Vitamin E Face Mist.
I saw makeup artist Chase Aston use it on models at an event this past winter, and loved how it created a dewy base for makeup. I spoke with him after the demo and asked for a spritz on my own face - and at this point it was nearly 9 pm, after a long workday and harsh NYC late winter weather, so my face felt awful. The Vitamin E Mist felt wonderful, and was definitely more moisturizing than spraying plain mineral water on one's face. It refreshed without smearing my makeup off, and it smelled lovely, like rosewater.
Here I am with Chase Aston fiddling with makeup and discussing the face mist. Oh man, I am looking like a bobblehead in this picture, all Giada de Laurentiis-style. Also, tall. Which I am not.
Anyhow, back to the subject at hand. Vitamin E Face Mist is absolutely a desk drawer essential - I use it at the end of the workday to refresh my skin and loosen up any makeup that I want to retouch or re-blend. It makes that awkward transition from work to happy hour, dinner or weeknight date so much easier!
