Fly by Night Fragrance

Recently I told you about my secret love for Glow by J. Lo and how it had long been my go-to scent for airport layovers and visits to the duty-free shop. The funny thing is, I've never actually owned a bottle - I just spritz it on when I'm passing through the airport. It's clean and slightly soapy, so it's a perfect, unobtrusive pick-me-up during long travel days.

But with the debut of Prada Infusion d'Iris, my old standby Glow has been pushed aside. Upgrade!

Infusion d'Iris is so very, very lovely. Robin of Now Smell This described it as a "wispy little slip of a scent," and she couldn't be more accurate.

It's so light and airy that it couldn't possibly offend even the most sensitive-nosed fellow air passenger. I spritz liberally at every duty-free shop. I love sniffing it in my clothes, on my skin and in my hair. I wish I could naturally smell like Infusion d'Iris; it's not "perfumey" at all, just subtle and well, wonderful.

I usually have problems with iris fragrances, finding them either too powdery or too earthy; here, Prada merely suggests iris rather than going for a dead-on rendition. Perfect. Notes include notes include mandarin, orange blossom, galbanum, iris, incense, benzoin, cedar, lentisc and vetiver.

The only question that remains is, why haven't I purchased my own bottle yet? This is ridiculous. I actually look forward to air travel so that I can sample Infusion d'Iris yet again. I need to cave already and buy it!

Do you have a fragrance flirtation that's strictly in-store? I can't possibly be the only one!
