Can you think of any two flowers that scream "summer" more than tuberose and gardenia?
Estee Lauder Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia is a perfect marriage of the two, and not much else. It's a relatively simple scent, with the two central characters rounded out by just a few supporting notes: neroli, lilac, rosewood, orangeflower, jasmine, white lilies, carnation and vanilla bourbon.
There's nothing sharp or stuffy about Tuberose Gardenia; it's just a mix of beachy, feminine white flowers, very elegant. Think of a cross between the gardenia-heavy Marc Jacobs and the tuberose-laced Michael Kors, and there you have it.
I wish I had discovered it last summer when it first came available, because I have a feeling that it would be especially lovely on sun-warmed skin. Guess I'll just have to wait til the temperatures finally start rising around here!
On top of this, the bottles are just gorgeous. The cap of the parfum version is adorned with natural semi-precious gems including aventurine, yellow and green jade, citrine, lemon and mustard stones. The solid perfume (sold out on the Estee Lauder site but available at Neiman) has the same design and is housed in a gorgeous gold compact. The eau de parfum bottle (left) is a bit plainer, but the scent is every bit as pretty.
Just one more product that's got me jonesing for summer these days!
