Lean Times

Friends, this post is not going to be about beauty. First off, I owe all you loyal readers an apology for the lack of updates these days. It's just one of those times when my day job (the one that pays my real life bills and my real life rent) demands far more of my attention than usual. With the economy the way it is, and banks collapsing left and right, I need to give my job 200% of my time right now. Frankly, I'm incredibly grateful to have that job; so much is in flux in the business world, so many of my old college friends uncertain about their future. 5 years ago it was so exciting to get a job at Bear Stearns, Lehman, Merrill Lynch, AIG. We were a bunch of idealistic 22-year olds who thought the big banks and insurers could guarantee us a comfortable life and a secure future. Sadly, that's no longer the case.

So no matter how many 16-hour days I have to work, I won't dare complain.

And I'm not abandoning Beauty Addict -- I just wanted to let you know why things have been slow and apologize in advance if it continues. I hope to be back up to normal speed as soon as possible!

Oh, and did I say this post wasn't going to be about beauty? I can't help myself, here's one of my favorite oddball beauty tips of all time: shaving your legs when you have goosebumps will give you a closer, longer-lasting shave. I'm telling you, it works! Goosebumps (gooseflesh, goose pimples, whatever), make those little hairs stick straight up, in perfect position for the razor. Just stick your leg out of the hot shower into a cool bathroom or hallway, that'll do the trick!!
