New Collection: MAC Naked Honey

MAC's Naked Honey collection is on counters this month, and while it's a small collection, I'm really loving the wearable, shimmery shades and the sweetly scented body goodies.

All three Lipglasses (She's a Star, Queen Bee, Buzz) are easily wearable and look like a summer sunset. Love! My pick is the sheer pale gold She's a Star, perfect for layering over other colors for a shiny pop of gold, or on its own at the beach.

Shimmery pale gold Creme de Miel and pearly copper brown Buckwheat eyeshadows are gorgeous. I'd skip Pollinator, unless you're really hankering for a peach shadow. Too orangey-pink for me.

Highlight powders come in Honey Light and Golden Nectar, and are embossed with a gorgeous honeycomb pattern. They're not as shimmery as they seem, though -- the top of the powder is coated with a thin layer of fine shimmer that wears off once you start using it.

The body products smell like a combination of honey, Grand Marnier, and spices. I'm especially loving the Body Wash; there's also a Hand and Body Cream, and I hear the Skin Salve is fabulous, though I haven't tried it (yet). The prices are a little steep, though. $19.50 for 3.4 oz of body wash? Ouch.

I haven't sampled either of the scents (Naked Honey, Africanimal) yet, but check out the descriptions in the collection details below.

FRAGRANCE ($22.50)

Creations: Naked Honey An aromatic journey that traces honey's fragrant heart back to summer's sweetest blooms. Energy starts to buzz, spirits soar, light floral and woodsy notes float toward an electric finale. Sweet and sexy all the way.

Creations: Africanimal A scent that starts with a honey-ness that's seductive and given its dash of pepper, not without spice. Add a dark kiss of bergamot and wood, and an aromatic orgy breaks out to create a scent that's all-honey but far from sweet.
