Five for Friday: Hang on to Summer

Still not ready to give in to fall weather? Whisk yourself back to a balmy day at the beach and make summer last just a little bit longer, with these five fab products:

1. Product Body Crush on You in Beach House. Crush on You has been one of my favorite body scrubs for years (read this to find out why), and now in this delicious, beachy scent, it's even better. Tropical fruit and coconut mix to create a summery scent that smells just like vacation. Currently available in mini size, alone or in the Product Travels set. (Get the travel set! That way you'll get a matching Creme Fresh and Road Wash, too.)

2. Estee Lauder Pure Color Gloss Stick in Orange Poppy is summer-bright, but the orange hue still works as a transitional Fall shade. Why? Because an orange lippie just looks totally awesome with grey and charcoal clothes. So wrap up in your favorite cashmere sweater and slick on a coat of this soft, smooth gloss stick. It's the perfect compromise when temps are dropping, but you're wishing you were still livin' it up on the beach.

3. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Sunny by Nature. Just because the summer's over, who says you have to give up your tan? Fight sallow cold-weather skin with a sweep of a fabulous bronzer. Right now I'm loving this one from MAC.

4. Redken Blonde Glam Perfect Platinum Color Enhancer. OK, so this one's only for blondes, but it's so awesome, I can't leave it off the list. This color-depositing conditioner really helps you get the most out of your highlights, and can seriously delay a visit to the salon for a touchup - especially important when the arid fall/winter air starts to dry out your hair. Also available in Rich Vanilla for darker blonde shades.

5. Viva La Juicy. I've been surprised over and over again by how much I like this scent. It has a freshness that makes it work for summer - in fact, I found myself reaching for it more than I thought I would - but there's a creme brulee note in there that makes it a terrific transitional fall scent as well. But if you're really jonesing for a fragrance that screams SUMMER, instead of just, say, whispering it, go for Summer by Kenzo or Creed Virgin Island Water.
