My blogger pal and real-life friend Annie is kicking off Nail Polish Month over at Blogdorf Goodman. In honor of this event I thought I'd tell you about my favorite polish of the moment: Essie Wicked.

There has already been quite a bit of talk about this color in the comments section of Annie's first nail post.

It is a deep, deep, deep berry red; from far away it appears nearly black, but close up it has a gorgeous berry cast. It's dramatic but still chic; if you're not quite ready to take the plunge with the black polishes we've been seeing everywhere (Black Satin, anyone?), Wicked is a perfect alternative. One caveat: unless you're going for the Elvira look, keep the talons short, friends.
