As you may know from my previous musings, I don't wear foundation, which is a bit of an oxymoron for a beauty addict, I reckon. The only "imperfection" I can't cover up with a little concealer is a smattering of freckles, and I really don't care to hide them. They are fading away, anyhow, due to my fondness for non-pore-clogging sunscreen and sunglasses that obscure nearly my entire face.
But, when my face is looking a tad under the weather - say, after late nights in the office or out on the town, or maybe the awful jet lag that I'm experiencing this morning - I like to perk it up with a little tinted moisturizer. Revolotion Face by DuWop is my current favorite. With light-reflecting bits, SPF15, and just a hint of color, it does the job without making me look overly made-up. Since it's lighter than a foundation, there's less chance of experiencing that evil horizon line on your forehead or jaw, where treated face meets bare skin. In fact, I've been using Revolotion in a shade that's definitely on or two darker than what would be a "match" for my skin. It blends so easily, and is so sheer, that the darker shade makes me look like I have a bit of a tan without looking unnatural. (This is perfect, because I love to slather the St. Tropez fake tan on my body, but self-tanner on the face usually makes me break out or goes on unevenly.)
I hear that Laura Mercier's tinted moisturizer is excellent as well; today is a shopping day for me so I may pick some up. What are your favorite tinted moisturzers?
