Runway Beauty: Dior Fall '06 Couture, Part 5

Dior Look #5: Braveheart in Neutrals.

Warriors in the army of Galliano! William Wallace would be proud, though I suspect he would have preferred to see the look done in blues rather than taupes. Love the chimeric* faces, the drawn-on shapes over the eyes, and the contoured cheeks. Hate the taupe shadow of death! But, I must admit, this is an intriguing look, worthy of a couture show.

All 5 looks considered, what do you think of the makeup at Dior? I'm assuming it was the masterwork of Pat McGrath, and I am absolutely knocked out. Most shows deliver only one or two key makeup looks, but here we have 5 completely different themes. It takes a lot to keep up with John Galliano!

* chimeric: adj., Composed of parts of different origin. Such a great, underused word, and perfect for this look, don'tcha think?
