You know I can't resist sets that give you a whole lot of goodies for not a whole lot of cash. They're a great way to stock up on items you might already use, build a well-rounded, versatile cosmetic collection, and get useful accoutrements (like brushes!) on the cheap. Two good ones that I've come across recently:
The Smashbox Beauty Book gives you $181 worth of product for only $60, and includes old favorites like Photo Finish primer (travel tube!) and Brow Tech (this time in a trio), a good cream eyeliner brush, and lots of other loot. The list:
- Photo Finish Foundation Primer (clear)
- Brow Tech Trio (brunette, taupe, wax)
- Cream Eye Liner Duo in Caviar/Midnight Brown (black, dark brown)
- Cream Eye Liner Brush #9
- Eye Shadow Quad in Juxtapose (chocolate brown, matte pink, golden pink, metallic olive green)
- Fusion Soft Lights in Dimension (shimmering soft pink, peach, coral pink, champagne, bronze)
- Emulsion Lip Exfoliant
- Lip Enhancing Gloss in Pixel (creamy nude)
Bare Escentuals Crown Jewels is a $118 value for $52. I don't often mention Bare Escentuals here, but it's not because I don't like the products; loose powders just aren't that practical for me since I travel so much. But when I'm home, I love the Clear Radiance Allover Face Color (included in this set), and I think the shadows and liners are quite good. Another winner in this set: Buxom Lips gloss. The full rundown:
- .02 oz bareMinerals All-Over Face Color in Clear Radiance (sheer translucent glow)
- 2 x .02 oz bareMinerals Glimmers in True Gold (gold shimmer) and Opal (silver-white shimmer)
- .01 oz bareMinerals Liner Shadow in Onyx (jet black)
- .15 oz Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Amber (soft shimmering peach)
- Double-Ended Precision Eye Brush
- Angled Face Brush
