Metal Health

Back in April I said I was going to start doing "The Secret" to will another excellent Bobbi Brown collection into existence. Not a fan of the Violet Face Palette or the Surf & Sand eye palette, I longed for another blockbuster collection like Gold, Sparkles & Rubies, and of course...Chocolate.

Well, it looks like my prayers have been answered, as the new Metallics collection is GORGEOUS.

Bobbi knows how to do metallic shadows right; superfine particles of shimmer, rich colors, luxurious textures. They're glowy and jewel-like and perfect for autumn. Choose one of four perfectly coordinated 3-shade palettes or just be a glutton and get them all (hey, they're limited edition).

Midnight Metallics. You know how much I love a deep blue eyeshadow as a liner or an accent color, and the one in this palette (Midnight) is stunning! It's navy with cobalt shimmer, giving it this beautiful starry night effect. Also includes Platinum (silver-white shimmer) and Rockstar (silver-grey shimmer). My favorite way to wear this palette is to layer Rockstar and Platinum on the upper lid, top with smudgy black eyeliner, and then line the lower lid with Midnight.

Burnt Sugar Metallics (shown above) houses Toffee (rosy taupe shimmer), Gold Dust (self explanatory), and Burnt Sugar (muted caramel shimmer). Pair with a dusty pink cheek and lip for a romantic autumn look.

Velvet Plum Metallics. I'm really feeling a smoky plum eye this season and this palette is perfect for creating it. The shades (Raisin, Champagne Quartz, Velvet Plum) are actually much more neutral than they appear on the website, so they're very wearable and versatile. Top off with an aubergine liquid liner for a more dramatic effect. Pretty!

Forest Metallics includes Sage (grey-green shimmer), Balsam (dark emerald green shimmer), and Forest (deep metallic olive green). Layer Sage and Forest on your upper lids, then use Balsam to line your lower lid (lightly!). I love the effect of a neutral upper lid with a pop of coordinating color on the lower lid.

Have you tried any of the Metallics palettes yet? Which is your favorite?
