Shiseido The Makeup: Spring 2008 Preview

This past Fashion Week I was able to score a sneak peek at some new Shiseido goodies due out next March! Every collection from Shiseido seems to be better than the last, so I was just tickled to see some of my favorite things in this one, most notably, Hydro Powder Eye Shadow in four new colors. The rundown:

Shiseido The Makeup Hydro Powder Eye Shadow. At this point I can't even count how many times I've mentioned this product on the blog! It's such an innovative formula; it's cooling, goes on sheer, builds well, and doesn't crease...and now you can get it in four more colors.

  • H10 Languid Lagoon. Stunning shimmery blue green that looks super bright in the pot but can be blended to various shades of intensity.

  • H11 Rose Tulle. Sheer dusty pink with a silvery glow. So romantic and pretty! This would even be gorgeous as a highlighter on cheekbones.
  • H12 Lemon Sugar. Pale, pale yellow with white gold shimmer. I fell in love with this shade at Alexander Wang when Dick Page used it as a base color on eyelids.

  • H13 Clover Dew. Soft meadow green. Would be gorgeous as a wash over eyelids or layered over a darker shadow for a pretty sheen!

Shiseido The Makeup Shimmering Lipstick. These lippies look heavily frosted in the tube, but once they're on your lips they deliver just the right amount of shimmer. My favorite up to this point was a gorgeous berry shade, SL8, but now with four new shades my allegiances might be shifting...

  • SL14 Cheerful Pink
  • SL15 Spring Violet
  • SL16 Pale Coral
  • SL17 Summer Sunset

Shiseido The Makeup Multi-Shade Enhancer. This is what we saw Dick Page use underneath the models' eyes for a pretty, highlighted effect at Doo.Ri. (He used the two lightest shades - each compact has 5 shades in the same family, from light to dark.) These are excellent because you can blend all 5 colors and use as an overall face color/bronzer, use the light shades for highlighting, the dark for contouring...they multi-task! Available in two shades:

  • Terra-Cotta Glow
  • Sunset Glow
