OK, so Naughty Nauticals isn't exactly new (it launched last month). I was going to let this one go by without a post, but now I've gotten my hands on some of the products, so I have a few initial thoughts to share with you. Read on:

First off, I know I said I was over the navy nail trend, but if you can snag a bottle of Naughty Nautical polish, do it (it's sold out online). It's a dark royal blue with tiny flecks of blue frost, different from most of the other blues we've been seeing. Would be great on toes with some peep-toe heels.

Mutiny pigment is described as "clean sky blue with gold pearl." This is not exactly accurate. It's turquoise. Pale, golden turquoise, but turquoise nonetheless. It goes on sheer when applied dry, much more intense when mixed with mixing medium or one of those handy little shadow converters (i.e., DuWop Payoff). A wash of it would be perfect for recreating one of those magazine cover eye looks that we saw recently.

Submarine eye shadow is so gorgeous in the pot, a bright royal blue with a bit of shimmer. It goes on rather sheer which, quite frankly, looks hideous. On its own, Submarine is scary Church Lady blue. The horror! However, it works really well as a liner (remember that gorgeous lower lid look from Fashion Week?), or blended with other shades. A little bit of Submarine close to the lashline with an otherwise smokey eye would look really fresh, as well.

For lips, Port Red lipstick is a gorgeous frosty ruby color, totally what the Wicked Queen from Snow White would have worn. It's unfortunately sold out online but I bet you could find some with a little sleuthing. Hey, Sailor lustreglass is really pretty and very wearable for everyday, plummy pink with white pearl.
