You may have noticed the lack of posts around here these days. It's been an eventful couple of weeks here at Beauty Addict! Not to mention 3 big proposals and a complete absence of the "summer slowdown" at work, there's been...let's see...a broken car air conditioner, a broken computer, the worst summer allergies of my life, Windows Vista, a cracked windshield (thanks, NJ Turnpike!) and a trip to Maine that involved - among other things - multiple power outages, vomiting, rain, and a waitress's refusal to serve me any wine with dinner due to the fact that I left my driver's license home. And by then, I REALLY NEEDED THAT WINE.

So, eventful. Yeah.

In times like these, the only things I really want to write about are old favorites. When your computer, your air conditioner, and even the power company are messing with your life, it's nice to know there are SOME things out there that won't let you down.

Thus, today we will be discussing one of my all-time favorite cheek products, Lancome Magique Blush in Cinnamon Glaze.

Never in my life did I think I would wear a brown blush. I was a pink girl all the way; with the exception of bronzer, the closest I got to brown was a light peachy neutral (Miel Glace, also by Lancome).

Cinnamon Glaze came my way a couple of years ago when it was used at a fashion show. I opened it up, said, "ewww, dark," and put it away. But for whatever reason, I ended up keeping it, and on a particularly adventurous day I decided to break it out and try some.

The Magique blushes are super light and fluffy with a mousse texture, and I soon found out that this makes them ridiculously easy to apply, and incredibly difficult to screw up. Cinnamon Glaze looked a bit dark in the pot, but once on my cheek (I applied just a dot, using my finger) it blended beautifully and looked incredibly natural.

It's a mauve-y cinnamon with the slightest touch of shimmer, and that little bit of dusty pink in it keeps it from looking orange. It works in the winter to warm up a pallid complexion, and in the summer to complement or intensify a (faux) tan. I was totally wrong about it when I first looked at it and said "ewww." Blasphemy!

And since it blends so well, it's damn near impossible to screw up or overdo, even on mornings when everything else seems to be going wrong. The other blushes in the line are the same (I like Subtle Fluff, too, when I'm in a pink mood). Seriously, they're foolproof.

So I guess what I'm really trying to say is that if I wake up tomorrow to find that my Cinnamon Glaze has dried up or congealed, I will take it as a sure sign of the impending Apocalypse. It's that good!
