Collection Review: Bobbi Brown Bronzed Pink

Recently I shared the details of Bobbi Brown's summer collection, Bronzed Pink. I've since had a chance to try out those gorgeous metallic shadows and the tinted lip balms, so read on for my thoughts.

The Metallic Eye Shadows in Bronzed Pink and Penny share the same soft, almost creamy texture as their forefathers, the Metallic shadow palettes from last fall. Yes, they're powder shadows, but I swear they're almost creamy. Kinda similar to Stila shadows. The funny thing is, they don't look all that metallic in the pan, but once they're on your skin, they give this gorgeous glowy effect. These two colors in particular impart a "safe for work" shimmer.

Bronzed Pink is a pale pink with warm shimmer. I find that some shimmery pink shadows take on an "icy" or blue quality, which looks especially horrible in photos taken with a flash, but this one is warm and subtle. It works as an allover wash or a highlight shade.

Penny looks like an average tan shimmer in the pan, so I was surprised to see that it showed up slightly orange on my lids. I wouldn't wear it alone, but when topped with a little of the Bronzed Pink, it transformed into the most gorgeous shimmery taupe. With a smudge of Clinique Brush-On Cream Liner in Bronze, it's a perfect glowy summer eye.

Tinted Lip Balm comes in three new shades -- Golden Pink, Bronzed Pink and Desert Bronze. I'm amazed at how they pack shimmer into these lip balms without the gritty feeling; they're incredibly smooth. My pick is Golden Pink; as you'd expect, it's a medium pink with gold shimmer, perfect for everyday. Of the three, it has the most shimmer; the others are more subtle. Bronzed Pink looks very brown in the tube, but shows up sheer dusty rose-brown on the lips. Desert Bronze is more of a tawny nude.

There's also Yogi Bare, the new clear lip balm. With low shine, no scent, and the classic black packaging, this is one balm your guy won't be embarrassed to swipe from your purse.
