We've talked many times about how Urban Decay Primer Potion is a life-changing, amazing, must-have product. I mean come on, the elimination of eyeshadow creasing and migration is MAJOR, no?
But the packaging of this little miracle is a royal pain. Think your tube is empty? Not so! (Check out this post for the background.)
I was getting a little tired of scraping the extra UDPP from the stupid genie tube into a little jar, so when I heard that Too Faced Shadow Insurance was an equivalent product in better packaging, I jumped on it.
So is it really as good as the venerable UDPP?
I tried to convince myself that it was, but honestly...no. It looks like it, and it feels similar, but the results just aren't the same. First off, Shadow Insurance feels a bit greasier and takes longer to dry on my lids. And once on, it didn't really anchor my shadow the way UDPP does.
Now, I know it's a major beauty crime to do so, but with UDPP I'm able to sleep in my eye makeup and wake up still looking good (I know it's gross, but can't we all admit that in certain situations, this eye makeup superpower comes in handy?). Shadow Insurance fails the overnight test; it keeps my shadow from creasing, and helps it stay on longer, but just doesn't deliver the way UDPP does.
Unfortunately, I'm going back to UDPP and all the tube-scraping and jar-transferring that goes with it. I'm willing to put in the work. It's just too good.
What do you think? Do you have a favorite of the two, or is there another primer that's captured your heart -- and your lids?
